PORTLAND A woman was arrested Saturday for pepper-spraying the clerk at a Portland hotel, police said.

The clerk told police it happened after complaints came in that some unruly guests were smoking in a non-smoking room at the Ramada Inn, at 6221 NE 82nd Ave.

She said she was sprayed while attempting to deal with the situation.

Police confirmed that one woman was arrested in connection with the incident and that there could be more arrests after the investigation is completed.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene, who said her injuries were consistent with symptoms of pepper spray.
