PORTLAND -- A man suspected of stealing from a Southeast Portland church has been arrested after he was on the run for several days.

Jeffrey Wilson, 45, was arrested Saturday and booked into the Multnomah County jail. He was scheduled to be in court Monday.

Wilson was released on his own recognizance a week ago, despite a long criminal history, including a theft conviction in February. He was supposed to be in court last Wednesday, but he failed to show up and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Wilson was suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment from Central Christian Church in February and March.

Detectives said they were investigating the possibility that he was involved in other burglaries, but no additional charges were pending at this time.
