67-year-old Leroy Miller has been golfing since he was 10.
WSU Cougars go viral at The Masters
The Bellevue native has always dreamed of making a trip to watch The Masters.
I told my wife, four or five years ago, that if we have any plans and The Masters opportunity comes up, the plans are cancelled, said Miller.
And this year, after purchasing a Masters get-away at an auction, Miller and a buddy would finally make the journey of a life-time to Augusta.
It's just a beautiful site, it's just breathtaking, said Miller.
In fact, Miller, a very proud Washington State alum, puts Augusta right up there with Pullman and that's why he wasn't too shy about showing off his Cougar pride while watching the Masters. But it wasn't until the green jacket presentation that Miller's alumni love would be seen by millions.
I saw where the camera was and why not get lined up where you might get on TV, said Miller.
But unfortunately Miller was in the back row, so that's when he decided to take his WSU windbreaker and raise it proudly for all to see.
When they were going to introduce Bubba [Watson], I moved a little bit and just held it up for about five seconds, said Miller.
And since Miller's magical moment at The Masters, his story has gone viral on Twitter, Facebook and on Cougar blogs.
It's about Cougars, the Cougar logo, and that's the greatest part of it, said Miller.
