PORTLAND -- A man was found dead late Tuesday night by police responding to reports of a shooting at Southeast Harold Street and 57th Avenue.
Hours earlier, a man was brought to Providence Medical Center in Northeast Portland and responding officers learned he had been shot several times at a home near Southeast 49th Avenue and Powell Boulevard, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.
It was not clear Wednesday if the two shootings were related.
The victim at Providence was brought to the hospital just before 9 p.m., Simpson said. Despite his wounds, he was able to talk to medical staff and police.
The suspect in that shooting is a white man, about 5-foot-9 with a thin build, unshaven, in dark clothing and wearing sunglasses. A motive remains unclear, Simpson said, but it does not appear to be gang-related.
