PORTLAND -- March is now designated Portland Dining Month. It's a chance to sample any one of 103 restaurants in the city at one low price.
This is the fifth year for the dining month long event. This year it's being moved from June to March to help restaurants and hotel during what is typically a slow time for both.
Throughout the month of March, local chefs are preparing a three course meal for $29. Several new restaurants are added to the list this year including Ecliptic Brewery at 825 N Cook Street. It's been open just four months. Each course there comes with a different brew.
Since we're so new to get our name out there, and people who haven't been in yet to come and check us out, said Ecliptic owner John Harris.
For the first time, the Downtown Marketing Initiative is reaching beyond Portland to encourage folks from Vancouver, B.C., Seattle and Bend to come to the Rose City to have a great meal.
Last year during dining month, restaurant revenue jumped 72 percent.
And if you book your reservation through PortlandDiningMonth.com, a donation will be made to the Oregon Food Bank.
