WILSONVILLE, Ore. -- A 19-year-old driver has been charged with DUII after he was reportedly huffing in connection with a crash that injured two 13-year-old girls in Wilsonville on Aug. 7.
The girls were struck on the sidewalk along Southwest Wilsonville Road at Southwest Memorial Drive that afternoon. Both girls were hospitalized for about a week.

The driver, Tyler Joos of Wilsonville, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, but investigators have since determined that he was impaired at the time of the crash, said Sgt. Robert Wurpes of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
A forensic analysis was conducted by a lab in Florida that can detect the use of intoxicating inhalants, which are believed to have been a factor in this case, Wurpes said after the investigation was complete.
Joos turned himself in to Wilsonville police Thursday and was later booked in the Clackamas County Jail for DUII and several assault charges.
On Thursday, Joos was released on bail shortly after 5 p.m.
