PORTLAND -- A contractor working inside a Southeast Portland home was robbed at gunpoint and his work truck was stolen Monday morning, police said. The truck was returned Monday afternoon, but the suspects were not located.
Officers were called just before 9 a.m. to the report of a robbery in the 7800 block of Southeast 114th Avenue.
The victim told police he was doing repairs in the home when two men confronted him, one of whom was armed with a handgun, said Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
The suspects demanded the victim's phone, wallet and keys, then left the area in his work truck after tying him up in the home, Simpson said. The victim was able to get free to call 911.
The truck was later spotted by a news crew and recovered by police.
The suspect with the gun was a white man in his 40s, about 5-foot-8, with a medium build, clean shaven, wearing all dark clothing, Simpson said. No description was provided for the second suspect.
Anyone seeing the vehicle was asked to immediately call 911. Anyone with non-emergency information was asked to call (503) 823-0405.
