SALEM -- The Marion County Jail was temporarily under a modified lockdown following Thursday's disturbance in which seven or eight inmates refused to return to their cells after outdoor exercise.

One inmate armed himself with the handle from a mop, but he and other inmates gave up when threatened with a Taser stun gun.
