PORTLAND A woman is in critical condition after being ejected from a car during an accident in Southeast Portland Saturday night.
At around 10:30 p.m., 20-year-old Marissa Conklin was launched some 70 feet after the convertible she was riding in failed to negotiate a slight left turn on Southeast Market Street, hitting two trees, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.
The car s engine separated from the vehicle and came to rest on the sidewalk, Simpson said.
Eric Tarasov, 18, and Davontay Mosley, 17, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, but a fourth man fled the scene before police arrived.
Police were continuing the investigation and trying to determine who was driving during the crash.
