BEAVERTON, Ore. Dutch Bros. Coffee is holding a fundraiser Monday for a longtime customer with leukemia who is waiting for a bone marrow transplant.

Beaverton resident Luis Lopez was diagnosed with leukemia about one year ago. After other methods of treatment failed, he chose to undergo a costly bone marrow transplant.

When Luis got sick about a year ago, we were really concerned, said Tina Thompson, who co-owns the Beaverton Dutch Bros. stand, with partner Mike Gonzales. He s been coming to our stand since we opened four years ago, and we ve always joked that we re family. They re good people who work really hard, and we want to help.

The transplant will cost Lopez more than $500,000.

Thompson and Gonzales said they will donate 30% of the proceeds from their coffee stand on Monday, Dec. 17 to Lopez, to help cover those costs. The fundraiser will run from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 8940 SW Hall Blvd.

Please come out on Dec. 17 and support a local family in need. We will also have jars available for additional donations to the cause, Gonzales added.

Donations may also be made to the Luis Lopez Bone Marrow Fundraiser at any U.S. Bank.
