PORTLAND -- Police continue to search for the driver who struck a woman with a car and then fled from the scene in Northeast Portland on Monday evening.
The woman, later identified as Charlotte Claudel, 20, suffered traumatic injuries. But she was expected to survive, according to Lt. Robert King with the Portland Police Bureau. She was listed in fair condition at Legacy Emanuel Hospital on Tuesday night.
Claudel was struck by the car at around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of NE60th Avenue &Glisan Street.
The car involved in the incident was found abandoned in the North Tabor neighborhood, according to police, but the driver was gone.
Anyone with tips that may help investigators was urged to call officer Erik Koppang in the Traffic Division, at (503) 823-2103.
Police said they do not believe the incident was related to a deadly shooting nearby, that occurred around 8 p.m.
