PORTLAND - Protesters calling themselves Portland Rising and Vancouver Rising planned a Saturday march across the Interstate Bridge and rally, according to the group Jobs with Justice.

Spokesperson Laurie King said the bridge would be colorful with flags and banners and chants for good jobs and no cuts.

Portland and hundreds of other places in the U.S. and around the world are highlighting the fact that everyday working people are fed up with policies that protect and enrich financial markets and huge multi-national corporations. We have ample resources for good jobs for all and an enhanced safety net. It is time for public policies to benefit working people and for banks and large corporations to pay the bill. said Laurie King of Portland Jobs with Justice.

Occupy Portland protesters aligning themselves with the Occupy Wall Street movement have been camping with the mayor's permission in downtown Portland the past two weeks after a large march through downtown.
