THE DALLES, Ore. Seven women have accused an anesthesiologist from The Dalles of sex crimes and investigators said they believe there may be even more victims.

In a story first reported on Oregon Live, Dr. Frederick George Field was charged with rape and felony sexual abuse Monday in an arraignment. He was indicted by a Wasco County grand jury last week and accused of sexually abusing two patients.

Then on Tuesday, police told KGW five more women had come forward, saying they too, were victims. One of the women was a hospital employee.

Investigators said Field took advantage of the women while they were under anesthesia. He has worked at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles for the past five years.

Field pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is being held on more than $1 million bond.

The State Medical Board suspended Field s license as the investigation continues. Until now the board lists no disciplinary actions or malpractice claims against Field.

A call for comment Tuesday by the Associated Press to Field s lawyer, Stephen Houze was not returned.
