TUALATIN - A Tualatin school has a new mascot thanks to an uninvited visitor from the woods earlier this month.

The black bear that had wandered down from the mountains, then played a game of cat-and-mouse for hours with wildlife officials, before it was tranquilized and later released in the CoastRange.

It captivated students, who saw the whole thing unfold right outside their classroom. More:Students watch bear capture

On the last day of classes Thursday yhe school officially changed its mascot from the Tualatin Panthers to the Tualatin Black Bears.
