TROUTDALE, Ore. More than a month after a shooting at Troutdale s Reynolds High School claimed the life of two teens, the district announced new plans to renovate the site of the deadly event.
School officials unveiled new plans for the school s gym complex. The renovation will include locker rooms, the lobby and restrooms. New security doors will also be installed.
Local firms, including Oh Planning and Design Architecture, donated money, materials and labor for the project.
The gym complex serves the entire community and we wanted the gym complex to be a place that welcomes and honors the important work that takes place there, said Superintendent Linda Florence. It will provide opportunities for the community to heal and recover from the events of June 10.
The district was already making improvements to the locker room when the shooting happened, but said it wanted to do more to help students recover from the school shooting.
