Rainier, OR -- A 16-year-old girl was killed in a rollover crash on Highway 30 west of Rainier early Sunday morning. A 16-year-old male passenger received minor injuries.
The victim in the crash was identified as Seeaira D. Hicks, of St. Helens. She was traveling east on Hwy 30 near milepost 54 in a 1993 Subaru at about 12:55 a.m. Sunday when for unknown reasons the car traveled off the eastbound shoulder and rolled several times, according to an initial investigation by Oregon State Police.
The passenger was identified as Scott A. Hamlin from St. Helens. Both occupants were using seat belts, and the car's airbags deployed.
Police say they are considering driver fatigue as a possible contributing factor in the deadly crash.
