VANCOUVER -- After some Vancouver parents used social media to get the word out about a man possibly trying to lure kids into his car, police said the report was a misunderstanding.

Children reported seeing a strange man near Harmony Elementary School at Northeast 166th Place and 26th Street over the past few days.

Parents posted a flyer about the reports and shared it on Facebook in hopes of finding the suspect.

Clark County police and Evergreen School officials said the kids mentioned in the flyer were actually talking to a family friend and a neighbor. They asked anyone who posted or shared the flyer to take it down.
