ALBANY, Ore. -- Court documents say a 48-year-old known by friends as a mountain man died of shotgun blasts after an argument with two other men at a Cascade Range campsite.
The documents filed Monday by the Linn County district attorney's office say Wayne Keith Klavano was hit three times, once in the head.
The documents say one of the other men told investigators he fired a 12-gauge shotgun after Klavano crouched as if to attack.
The Albany Democrat-Herald reportsKlavano moved from place to place, trapping and living off the land.
His parents found his body Tuesday on Forest Service property in the Santiam River valley east of Sweet Home.
That night, Utah authorities arrested two Colorado men in the case. An Oregon judge has issued arrest warrants for them.
