BANKS, Ore. – A West Linn man was killed in a crash along Highway 47 north of Banks early Sunday morning, police said.
Investigators believe Rodger Hepburn, 49, was speeding when his vehicle veered left and struck a bridge pillar head-on underneath the Highway 26 overpass.
“The vehicle split apart on impact and debris covered the area. Hepburn, who was alone, was deceased at the scene. There are no known witnesses to the crash when it happened,” said Lieutenant Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
The section of highway was closed about six hours during the investigation.
