Fritz was a psychiatric nurse at OHSU and made a name for herself a neighborhood activist and a contrarian voice on the city's Planning Commission before getting elected to the council office in 2008 using public money. For this race ,she has limited individual donations to $250 and has pumped her own money into the campaign.
She has been endorsed by Multnomah County Commissioner Nick Fish and chair Jeff Cogen, former commissioner and state legislator Gretchen Kafoury, former mayor Tom Potter and the Mercury, Willamette Week, Oregonian and Skanner newspapers.
