PORTLAND, Ore. -- This month's seemingly endless rainy weather is not only putting a damper on people moods, it's adding a wet wrinkle to their favorite sporting events as well.

On Wednesday the Portland Beaver s AAA baseball game against New Orleans was postponed due to rain.

Unfortunately, it was also School Day at the ball park. Thousands of young fans had come from all over the state to see the game.

Yeah, it is kind of a big field trip because I m kind of a baseball nut, said 11 year old Devon Chandler.

It's a frustration being felt by sportsmen and women across the area.

After their second round playoff game was postponed Tuesday, Jesuit High School's softball team warmed up under-cover Wednesday for a make-up game against Grants Pass.

Until yesterday that was one of the first rain-outs we've had on this field, explained Jesuit Assistant Coach Jon Koch.

Coaches say right now the weather is playing a mental game with players.

I think it s affecting all teams a little but were used to it... we live in Oregon you know, you just got to push through it, said Grants Pass player Morgan Barnes.
