BEAVERTON, Ore. A woman died Sunday after after she climbed a high voltage electrical tower, was electrocuted by the wires and fell 60 to 70 feet to the ground, police said.

Beaverton police responded to the incident at Southwest 160th Avenue and Village Lane at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday morning. They found the woman on the ground still alive. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.

Authorities believe the incident was a suicide. The woman had been taking medication for schizophrenia and had been on an alcohol and methamphetamine binge Saturday night, police said.
