PORTLAND -- The KGW Great Food Drive is in full swing and today it got a big boost.

Kettle Brand donated 60,000 pounds of potatoes to the Oregon Food Bank.

They're highly nutritious and can be made in a number of ways so it's just a fabulous donation, said Laura Golino de Lovato of the Oregon Food Bank.

The KGW Great Food Drive set a goal of 600,000 pounds of food collected by the end of the month. Much of the food will end up at places like Snowcap Community Charities in Southeast Portland.

Volunteer Todd Williams has been at Snowcap for four years.

It's a good feeling when you see someone go out the door and they've got a bag of groceries, Williams said.

If you'd like to help the KGW Great Food Drive, all you have to do is buy Tillamook Cheese, or donate cash at any US Bank branch.

If you donate ten cans of food at area Toyota dealership you'll get ten dollars off parts or service.
