WOODBURN, Ore. – A Woodburn man has died, following a crash earlier in the week on Highway 211, police said.

Investigators said a car driven by Nathaniel Payne, 18, of Molalla was traveling northbound on Pudding River Road and failed to stop for a stop sign last Thursday. Payne’s car crashed into the driver's side of a van on Highway 211, causing the van to roll.

The driver of the van, Filomento Brito Landa, 55, of Woodburn, was ejected from the vehicle. He was airlifted to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center where he died on Monday, according to Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.

Payne was not seriously injured. Hastings said Landa was not wearing a seat belt when the car crashed into his van.

The investigation continues.
