SEATTLE, Wash. -- Historic crowds in downtown Seattle have created some 911 problems during the city's Super Bowl victory parade.

Seattle officials said Wednesday that they heard reports of people having difficulty making emergency calls. The city asked fans to keep cell phone use to a minimum in order to ease the strain on the system.

Police estimated about 700,000 people had gathered in downtown to attend what may be the largest gathering in Seattle history.
