ALOHA, Ore. -- Aloha High School was placed in lockout temporarily Wednesday morning after reports of shots fired near the school. But police said the report turned out to be bogus.

Deputies at the scene were investigating reports that the window of a teacher's vehicle had been shot out in the parking lot, according to Sgt. Bob Ray of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Nobody was injured and the area is safe and secure, Ray said just after the lockout was put in place.

The order was lifted shortly afterward.

Ray said investigators found a vehicle with its back window broken out, but saw no evidence of criminal activity. It was likely caused by a previous crack in the window, coupled with an electrical problem involving the rear defogger, he added.
