SHERWOOD, Ore. -- Three people were hurt in a head-on crash in Sherwood Monday night and police said the driver at fault was intoxicated at the time.
Police were called just before 8 p.m. to the two-vehicle crash on Southwest Tonquin Road. A Ford pickup was lying on its side and a Subaru nearby was significantly damaged, said Sgt. Vance Stimler of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of the pickup, 46-year-old James Wygant of Sherwood, was taken to a Portland hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. The driver and passenger in the car suffered minor injuries and were not hospitalized.
Deputies believed Wygant was intoxicated and was driving on the wrong side of the road when he crashed, Stimler said. Wygant was cited for DUII and assault.
