PORTLAND -- The city of Portland has suspended some of its top electrical inspectors over allegations that they met for brunches when they were supposed to be working.

As first reported in Willamette Week, one inspector was fired and the others were put on paid leave during the investigation.

City leaders said they were taking corrective action after getting complaints that dated back to late November, according to the Bureau of Developmental Services.

Officials said the actions taken against the employees will not have any impact on city services.
