PORTLAND A man was robbed in Northeast Portland Saturday while trying to sell his iPhone to strangers he met on Craigslist, police said.

The man told police he went to meet two suspects at Northeast 42nd Avenue and Northeast Killingsworth Street around 8:30 p.m., said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

The victim said one of the men punched him and took the phone before the suspects took off on foot. The suspects then fired two shots at the victim when he tried to follow them in his car, Simpson said.

No one was hit by the gunfire.

Police established a perimeter and searched the area with a K-9 unit but did not find any suspects.

The suspect with the handgun was described as an African American man, 18 or 19 years old, 5-foot7, with a thin build and wearing dark clothing.

The other suspect was described as an African American man, 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-7, with a heavy build and wearing a blue sweater.
