BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A 69-year-old man who had been missing since Tuesday has been found dead, police said.
Brant William Koller walked away from an adult care home in the Cedar Hills community near Beaverton Tuesday afternoon, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Thursday that Koller had been found in a back yard swimming pool behind a home just after noon and was deceased. The home was located on SWLynnridge Avenue.
The cause of death has not been determined at this time, but it does not appear to be suspicious, said Sgt. Dave Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The family wants to thank all the searchers for the time they spent looking for Mr. Koller. They also want to thank the residents of the Cedar Hills neighborhood where Mr. Koller was missing.
Searchers had been going door-to-door in the area, asking if anyone had seen him. They were also looking in nearby yards, with the help of a K-9 team.
Family members said Koller suffered from severe dementia and could not speak. He was not dressed for the freezing weather conditions, either.
The adult care home that Koller walked away from was located at 2785 SW Roxbury Avenue.
