PORTLAND A water main break in Northeast Portland led to traffic problems and left some without tap water Tuesday morning.

An 8-inch pipe broke near Northeast 22nd Avenue and Northeast Highland Street just before 9:30 a.m.

Some people in the area saw dirty water flowing from their taps, some saw lower water pressure, and some were temporarily without water while crews spent most of the day repairing the pipe.

Water bureau officials did not say whether freezing temperatures caused the break.
