PORTLAND -- Transit police will be patrolling MAX tracks along some of the busiest routes in the Portland Metro area after surveillance video uncovered some startling close-calls with pedestrians.

The video (click on play button above to watch) shows people making mad dashes across tracks in front of WES trains.

The TriMet transit police will be on the lookout for people who dart in front of trains. If caught, violators can be fined up to $427.
