EUGENE, Ore. -- It was strange scene Saturday at Knight Arena in Eugene.

In the OSAA Girls 5A basketball championships, underdog Willamette figured the only way they could stay with defending champion Springfield was to stall. And so they did.

Willamette held the ball for almost the entire second quarter.

The score after one quarter, and at the half, was 4-0 Springfield.

After three quarters, the score was 7-1.

Despite the stalling, the Springfield Millers went on to win their second straight title, 16-7.

Springfield Millers won second straight state title.
