ESTACADE, Ore. -- An entire family is in the hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a school bus in Estacada. The bus was empty.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highways 224 and 211. A 16-year-old boy was driving a black Toyota sedan with his 14-year-old brother in the passenger seat and their 38-year-old mother in the back, fire fighters said.
The bus was driving south on Highway 224 when the Toyota turned left in front of it, according to police.
A LifeFlight helicopter flew two family members to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital and an ambulance took the third. The school bus driver was shaken but not hurt.
Many of the store owners along Highway 224 said something needed to be done to fix the intersection. They said there were frequent crashes in the area caused by impatience, fog or speed.
Names of those injured have not been released yet.
