ESTACADA, Ore. -- Police came up empty-handed after a standoff in Estacada that lasted several hours Wednesday.

At about 1:30 p.m., deputies went to a home on Southeast Tumala Mountain Road to arrest 41-year-old Brandon Stavenjord, who was wanted on a felony parole warrant.

Deputies at the scene learned Stavenjord was in the home and refused to come outside, said Deputy Mark Nikolai of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Due to Stavenjord's past criminal history, along with the belief that he had access to weapons, a SWAT team was called to the home.

Officers used loudspeakers and flash-bang grenades in attempt to remove Stavenjord from the home.

About seven hours later, Nikolai announced that the standoff was over. Officers had searched the entire home and concluded that Stavenjord left before the SWAT team arrived.

Stavenjord is at large, but is not considered a threat to the community, Nikolai said.

Anyone one with information about Stavenjord's whereabouts was asked to call 911 or the CCSO tip line (503-723-4949). Tips can also be submitted online here.
