WOODBURN, Ore. (AP) -- Authorities say a handicapped 79-year-old Woodburn man lost his wallet and his pickup truck when he tried to help a sweaty, dirty stranger who claimed to have run out of gas.

Clackamas County deputies said the stranger walked up to James Madsen yesterday at his home, asking for gas for his disabled car.

Madsen had no gas but offered to take the man to a nearby town to get some.

That's when the man grabbed him from behind, wrestled him to the ground and drove off in his truck.
