PORTLAND -- The Portland Thorns lost 2-0 to the Chicago Red Stars Saturday at Jeld-Wen with more than 12,000 fans on hand.

The Thorns, however, were without four of their best players who were out for international play. The U.S. plays Canada Sunday in an exhibition game in Toronto.

Missing were Alex Morgan and Rachel Buehler to team USA, and Christine Sinclair and Karina LeBlanc to Canada.

The Thorns beat the red stars twice in Chicago 2-0. But on Saturday, Chicago scored once in each half. The Red Stars get their first win of the year.

The Thorns are now 6-2 and 1.
