LEBANON, Ore. A small-town movie theater will be able to go digital after a successful crowd-funding effort.

Supporters of The Kuhn in Lebanon reached their Kickstarter goal of $35,000 Wednesday to help convert their projection system, four days ahead of their goal.

The Pitt family bought the theater in 2004. Along with the building s owner, they put in $150,000 to bring it back to life after sitting empty for ten years.

Their budget included the 35 mm projector, but not for digital.

Thank you so much for coming down and doing the story, organizer Sarah Steeves Tweeted to KGW Reporter Joe Smith. You were instrumental in saving our theater.

For the Pitts, the theater has been a gift back to the community. To find out more visit their Kickstarter page here.
