PORTLAND -- The driver of a stolen motorcycle who fled on foot after a crash on Interstate 205 Wednesday was taken into custody Friday, police said.

Andrew Joseph Pulver, 28, was reportedly driving recklessly on I-205 before he took the Johnson Creek exit and crashed into a stopped SUV.

Upon impact, the operator was ejected over the front of the motorcycle into the vehicle's rear window before landing on the pavement, said Oregon Sate Police Lt. Gregg Hastings.

Pulver then fled west on foot toward Southeast 82nd Avenue, Hastings said. Witnesses said he had obvious injuries that included heavy bleeding from the face. OSP troopers and Clackamas County deputies were unable to find him after an hour-long search.

He was found and jailed just after noon Friday, Hastings said. Details of his arrest and charges were not released.

The motorcycle had been stolen out of The Dalles. The driver and a passenger in the SUV were not hurt.
