VANCOUVER It s been one week since the Crestline Elementary fire and authorities still don t know what caused the school to go up in flames.

Investigators have been going through the rubble in Vancouver while nearly 500 students have been split up to other schools in the district to finish out the year.

In the meantime, students are on a mission to raise money for school supplies and books. Byrnn Nygaard and her friends sold homemade chocolate chip cookies over the weekend.

They stood out in the cold, but Nygaard says it was well worth it.

(It s) so cold! That s one thing -- so cold -- but you know, I d rather be cold than like, have no supplies for my school, she said. It s worth fighting for.

Nygaard and her friends raised nearly $500 and community members are still stepping up to help the elementary school.
