PORTLAND - Ten fire engines, three ladder trucks and a hazmat unit responded to a fire broke out at a North Portland business Friday.
Crews said the two-alarm fire was reported just before noon at the metal cleaning and stripping shop Superior Stripping at 9952 North Vancouver.
There were several explosions of racing fuel cells, acetylene and oxygen tanks. Several cars were also inside.
There were no reports of any injuries and everyone got out safely.
After the fire was significantly knocked down form outside the building, crews entered and extinguished the fire inside, said Lt. Michael Silva of Portland Fire & Rescue.
The business does race car work in the single story metal building.
Customers with items at the business were told they cannot retrieve any items until the fire investigation is complete.
