PORTLAND -- A Northeast Portland restaurant that bounced back after a recent fire, with the help of other businesses, has returned the favor.

Aviary restaurant hosted a family-style dinner benefit Wednesday night to help the Vanport Square Old Town Pizza after a March 14 fire caused $50,000 in damages.

Aviary paired some of its signature dishes with Old Town's newest beers, which were supposed to be released two days after the fire.

It's just been amazing about the neighbors and fellow businesses that have come and supported Old Town, owner Adam Milne said Wednesday, especially Aviary tonight.

Other businesses rushed to help Aviary reopen last July, after a fire caused by illegal fireworks left the restaurant heavily damaged.
