WOOD VILLAGE, Ore. -- Police cited a man early Thursday after a tip led to the discovery of eight pounds of marijuana.

Nicholas Lacy, 20, of Spokane, told Multnomah County Sheriff's Deputies that he purchased the pot earlier at a parking lot in Troutdale, said Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Lt. Mary Lindstrand.

Deputies were dispatched about 1 a.m. to the Travelodge motel at 23705 NE Sandy Blvd., on an anonymous tip, where they came into contact with Lacy.

Deputies spotted loose marijuana and related contraband in the front passenger area of Lacy's vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded eight bags of marijuana each holding about a pound, Lindstrand said.
