HERMISTON, Ore. -- A Marine who stepped on a hidden explosive device while helping a wounded comrade in Afghanistan had a patriotic homecoming.

The East Oregonian reports that Lance Cpl. Casey Allison lost his right leg below the knee and both the pinky and ring finger on his left hand in the Jan. 28 blast. He was five months into his second deployment.

He is a 2010 Hermiston High School graduate with a wife and daughter who was born after he left for Afghanistan.

His homecoming drew a big crowd of supporters who showed up to honor the Marine who fought for his country (photos courtesy of Q Madp).
