PORTLAND -- Shred Day is back, and you can get rid of your documents for free Saturday, April 19.
KGW and the Beaverton Police Department are offering the service at Tektronix, at 13975 SW Karl Braun Drive in Beaverton from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Cintas Document Management will be on site with two commercial-sized shredding trucks. Participants can bring up to two grocery bags or legal-size boxes of documents to shred.
Because of the popularity of the event, people are asked to bring only personal documents. Items no larger than staples and paper clips can be attached to the documents.
Participants are also encouraged to donate canned food to the Oregon Food Bank at the Shred Day.
For about every 600 pounds of paper recycled, one tree is saved.
