PORTLAND -- One thing seems certain this year for the Columbia Christian Knights. They should win the 1A state basketball championships.
Their starting forward Kameron Chatman is ranked between 8th and 12th best nationally in his position and the 6 foot 8 player is headed to Michigan after graduation.
Kameron deliberately chose a small school to allow him to first concentrate on academics.
Just getting ready academically, pretty much why I picked it, he told KGW.
He landed at Columbia Christian after a sophomore year at Jefferson High, then to Long Beach Poly in California, where transfer issues kept him from playing.
The desire for good grades steered him to the small Christian school.
His coach Aaron McKinney says Kameron has unstoppable floor vision.
And great vision about the important things in life. He wants his players to get better as individuals . . . something we always preach.
