COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) -- An Oregon man has pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated murder for killing his wife and two neighbors last June near the small Coos County community of Bridge.
County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier said Edward Nelson entered his pleas Wednesday afternoon in Circuit Court in the deaths of Katherine Nelson, Renae Cottam and Lola Cottam.
Police said the 65-year-old man shot the victims, then set fire to his home and the neighbors' home on June 15.

As part of his plea agreement, Nelson agreed to three consecutive penalties of life in prison without parole. Formal sentencing was set for Dec. 16.
The World newspaper says Nelson's trial had been scheduled for next July. The newspaper says he avoided a possible death sentence by taking the plea agreement.
Coos County is on the southern Oregon coast.
