SEATTLE The Washington State Liquor Control Board released a detailed county-by-county breakdown on the number of retail licenses it will issue for selling marijuana.

On Wednesday, the board said to will grant a total of 334 licenses for stores to sell pot in the newest phase in the implementation of I-502, the state ballot measure legalizing marijuana in Washington on Dec. 6.

Clark county will be granted 15 licenses with 6 granted to Vancouver. Seattle will be allowed up to 21 stores.

The board also said it will cap Washington production of marijuana at 40 metric tons.

The board will start to review applications in November with some likely issued in March. Selling at retail locations may begin as soon as June.

Last week, the U.S. Department of Justice announced it will not try to stop recreational marijuana legalization in Colorado and Washington.
