PORTLAND -- Fire tore through a house in Southeast Portland early Sunday morning.

Firefighters arrived at the scene on Southeast 8th Avenue just after 2 a.m.

It took about 40 minutes to get control of the fire after flames spread from the first floor to the second story and the home's basement.

No one was hurt.

Investigators were working to determine what started the fire.
