HILLSBORO Five people were hurt in a two-car accident on Highway 26 Saturday afternoon, firefighters said.

Just before 4 p.m., crews worked quickly to remove the five victims from a car after two sedans crashed on the overpass at Jackson School Road, fire officials said.

Firefighters cut away the door of the car that all five people were trapped inside. All five were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the second car was not injured.

Investigators were working to determine the cause of the accident.
